How to smoke a fish is about designing and developing a fish smoker that moves the backyard to the center of the kitchen. The aim was to make the process of fish smoking visible. We wanted to focus attention on the fish and its changes. We created a new perspective for a traditional process, which normally takes place in the sooty smoker and shows how silver turns to gold. It refers to the smoking of herring and makes it long- lasting. In addition, this adds value to the otherwise unappreciated fish. My part of this project was mainly in the concept development, the analogous form-finding, as well as the practical implementation, the model building in the workshop.
